Population Dynamics
|
The material is covered in chapter 53, although it is not a requirement that you read the entire chapter before coming to class.
It is highly recommended, however, that you review the text (and perhaps more importantly the figures) contained in this chapter as you study at home and prepare for the unit test on Friday, April 25. Spring Break Assignment
Due to the lost instructional time that occurred because of inclement weather this semester, a portion of the ecology unit will need to be done over spring break. This material is mostly review from freshman biology (you may access the freshman biology website to see notes presentations: http://ochsbiology.weebly.com).
The Assignment:
Read Chapter 54 (pp. 1194 - 1215) and answer the concept check questions at the end of each section (answers are in the appendix). There will be a QUIZ over this material on the Monday we return from spring break (4/14/14). The quiz questions will count as a portion of the unit test, which will be given on Friday, April 25.
Feel free to explore the activities on Mastering Biology if it helps you with the chapter material. Also, check the website periodically as additional materials (such as videos, animations, or other web links) may be posted.

Please also be collecting pillbugs (roly-polies) over spring break! You can bring them to school when we return and I will collect them in preparation for our animal behavior lab.
